Flixster redeem ultraviolet1/5/2024 By buying M-Go, it's also trying to push the concept of "super tickets," which combine theatrical and streaming offerings. You are receiving this message because you signed up for an UltraViolet Library or for a service that created an UltraViolet Library for you. Still, an influx of new users will only be a good thing for Fandango. You can still redeem UV codes, but they’ll be associated with the individual retailer accounts rather than your UltraViolet account. It's hard to tell how successful Flixster was when it came to streaming - many consumers ended up using it just to redeem Ultraviolet digital copies of films. There was a similar conflict with Flixster's Rotten Tomatoes integration, but that app relied on to complete ticket sales - Fandango, on the other hand, will own the entire pipeline.įlixster's existing streaming service won't be part of the deal, instead it'll eventually shut down and its users will be pushed towards Fandango's streaming offering. If the computer is already signed in to UltraViolet, the accounts will be automatically linked. Make sure that the Link My Account box is checked and click Continue. In particular, it'll be interesting to see how Fandango ends up handling movies with very low scores, which could push audiences away. After creating an account or signing in, the Link to an UltraViolet Account window will appear, click Yes, Link Account. Now, it's going to be an even more formidable opponent against the likes of Moviefone (which is owned by AOL).įandango says it'll integrate its ticketing capabilities into Flixster's app over the next few months, and you can expect Rotten Tomatoes scores to pop up in Fandango's app eventually. UltraViolet movies or TV Shows redeemed or purchased through other retailers can be accessed on FandangoNOW as long as your UltraViolet account was linked to. The news comes after Fandango also snapped up the streaming video service M-Go back in January, a move that made it clear it wanted do more than offer showtimes and online ticketing. As part of the deal, Flixster owner Warner Bros. Fandango is growing its cinematic empire by acquiring the movie review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and its parent company Flixster, Deadline reports.

Grayscale vs monochrome1/5/2024 Three components lend themselves to better black and white images. While you can turn any photo into black and white in post-editing, it is pretty clear that some turn out a lot better than others. Most photographers who are after creating black and white prints with high visual impact will use a blend of both methods to get the best shots. The Hybrid Method for Black and White Prints ![]() In most cases, you will not be able to recover the raw images that include color in case you decide to go another direction. Having this information at the time that the camera is in hand can lead to better black and white photographs. The benefit of shooting in a black and white mode with a digital camera is that you can get real-time feedback on the lightness and tonal variety in your shots. It is a little more involved than just pressing a button. How you get there is a topic of debate, but one option is to shoot in black and white mode. ![]() The base of good monochromatic prints is to start with black and white images. It is especially suitable for beginners who may not have a handle on the techniques that make an excellent black and white image. Post-processing is good because you can try out any image from your roll to see if it looks better in monochrome vs. Removing color to create black and white images in grayscale or monochrome is just one of many options. Computer-based photography software puts full creative control in the artist’s fingertips. Is it better to shoot monochrome or grayscale images in black and white or edit them later? Post-processing Black and White Imagesĭigital photographers have been using post-editing manipulation to create black and whites from raw shots since the late 1990s. Today, many digital cameras have a buffet of choices for different modes that include shooting in black and white.īut with more options, come more decisions. Once upon a time, photographers could only achieve black and white images in post-editing. The technology of digital photography allows photographers more options than ever before. How to Create Monochrome and Grayscale Photography Images The differences are small, and the terms are often used interchangeably. If your head is spinning a little bit trying to figure out the difference between monochrome photography and grayscale photography, you are not alone. By comparison, using grayscale uses only the black ink cartridge to print greys. This is because a monochrome image uses colors to produce blacks and whites. Monochrome printing images instead of using grayscale will use more ink. These prints with different shades of gray are commonly called black and whites in the photography industry, while the design industry favors the term grayscale. Grayscale is a black and white monochrome that uses only different shades of gray. In more artistic ventures, photographers also use monochrome schemes featuring other colors like red or cyan. Sepia prints, which have characteristic cocoa-brown shades and are often associated with vintage portraits, are among the most common uses of monochrome in photography. A monochrome print can be made with any color as long as it is limited to a single color. All black and white images are monochrome, but not all monochrome is black and white. Monochrome is the use of different hues of a single color to represent different images in a print or art piece. At one time, that was due to limitations in technology, but today it is an artistic preference that offers specific benefits. Historically, all original photography was done in black and white. ![]() ![]() By leveraging varying intensities of light and dark, and shades of gray the photographer can create stunning imagery. Some of the most breathtaking photographs do not use color at all or may use minimal color. In photography, as in other artistic mediums, the artist relies heavily on color to create art. The legitimate concern was quickly answered by the auction's administrator, clarifying, "I understand your concern. ![]() Moreover, he also used to be the COO of Duck Commander. He has made a good amount of money from the show. He has starred in Duck Dynasty since its first show and now the show has already aired 11 seasons. Much like “The Waltons,” most “Duck Dynasty” episodes show the entire Robertson clan sitting around the dinner table and saying grace before they break bread together. One fan pointed out that the show already featured a party celebrating Duck Commander's one millionth call, posting, "I'm concerned that this is a bit of a fraud since the CEO of the company had a party to celebrate their millionth duck call last year, and said on camera, they really had no way to know how many calls they had manufactured. As of 2022, Jase Robertson has an estimated net worth of around 13 million. Media critics compare “Duck Dynasty” to typical sitcoms, but if there is any one show it should be compared to, it is “The Waltons,” another fine show about a functional, intact family. He frequently got drunk and into trouble and was not very nice to his wife and young kids.īut he eventually found his way to church and his Christian faith transformed him. In the case of the Robertsons, order is made possible by their faith.Īnd nobody understands that better than Phil. It is orderliness that draws us in - the orderliness that is missing in too many American homes that are broken up by divorce or headed by single parents. The characters are all self-deprecating and don’t mind being the butt of the joke - because it is clear they are all in on the joke and having a grand time creating the show. And grandfather Phil is respected by his grandkids. Unlike most sitcoms on TV these days, the fathers are not dribbling idiots. They happily go into the woods to shoot, skin and cook their dinner. The characters are politically incorrect and unapologetic about that, too. Their families are intact and functional, and the show celebrates these simple values. They believe that when you marry, you really do become one flesh. These people are unapologetically religious. There are Phil and Kay’s three bearded sons, who all work at Duck Commander, their wives and kids and, of course, Uncle Si, a gray-bearded Army veteran who is daggone colorful and funny. Finale notepad1/4/2024 This is a Windows-only program and grants you the possibility of composing on up to eight staves which is a more generous start than Sibelius. The alternative is Finale who presents an attractive entry-level program free of charge called ‘Finale Notepad’. The piece de résistance is ‘Sibelius Ultimate’ that offers no limit of instrumental parts and custom layouts alongside superb playback. This version of Sibelius allows you to compose using up to sixteen parts which are often enough for many less experienced composers or those who have no interest in exploring larger orchestral canvasses. The next step up is simply called ‘Sibelius’ and this will cost you $9.99 per month. There are as you would expect, restrictions with Sibelius First in that you can only compose with a maximum of four instruments. ‘Sibelius First’ is the entry-level into the program and is free to use a piece of software. Sibelius is currently available as a subscription deal on three different levels to try and capture the full range of clients. ![]() Avid rightly felt that a first-class notation program alongside their industry-standard Pro Tools was a winning combination. Sibelius is now sold through Avid who became owners of the software in 2006. The number of features now available to composers is more than many will ever need but most like to have available at their fingertips. With both software packages, the possibilities in terms of notation and playback are extraordinarily good. This has made it a rival of Sibelius with composers and publishers alike for many years. Like Sibelius, Finale is written to produce exceptional scores ranging from simple piano scores through to compositions for a one-hundred strong symphony orchestra. Phil Farrand is credited as the first author of Finale that is currently in its twenty-sixth incarnation. It is often assumed that Sibelius was the first notation software but Finale reached the notation market first in 1988 with versions for both Windows and Macintosh computers. This did not make a significant impact on the popularity of Sibelius that was soon adopted by many leading composers and publishing houses, celebrated for its ease of use, functionality, stability, and beautiful printed scores. In these very first years of Sibelius, it ran only on Windows and Risk computers, only a little later making its way onto the Macintosh computers. The result was Sibelius, named after the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. These guys had had enough of writing out music by hand and decided, very profitably as it turns out, to design a piece of software that could make the task less laborious. Sibelius was the first notation program I spent money on back in 1993 when it was first released by Cambridge based brothers Jonathan and Ben Finn. For this article, I am going to take a look at two of the leading software programs that are in the first category that musical notation. These are ones designed to produce professional-looking scores, the same as you would buy from a publisher, and those created to produce ‘sequenced’ compositions that use virtual instruments. ![]() Essentially, there are two different types of software programs in common use amongst composers today. ![]() Enemies who breach the gate will pour into your colony, wreaking havoc on everything in their wake. Quake ii frame rate drop1/4/2024 ![]() There is input lag, including what might be a 1/2 second delay on the jump button. I did mess around with the control schemes but I can't wrap my head around the weird alternatives to the standard Turok and Goldeneye controls. In some simple hallways the framerate shoots up and it's so smooth and wonderful, but it doesn't last. It runs kinda like Perfect Dark and most other complex N64 games. The frame rate looks like 10-40 fps with an average of 20 I'd say. I'm still working through the single player. I'm sure I'll never touch the multiplayer mode but yeah I have heard it was fun in its day. lol I also have not been able to find a God mode cheat.sigh. Gotta let my brain absorb these situations for a few days. I'd have beaten the game by now but I tend to get stuck on the missions occasionally. It's not exciting like a metal soundtrack, but it's certainly moody and atmospheric. It's of course has the same ambient background noises as Doom64 and Quake. They should have at least made your departure and arrival at the various major mission locations more rewarding. Essentially you only have the progress diagram before each mission. There's also very little intro telling you what you are doing in general. There is almost nothing connecting the story together. There's actually a map in a mine that starts off with a ice/rock floor with broken bilinear filtering. In-game terminal graphics are all blurry regardless for example. I suppose without mip mapping they might be able to use higher resolution textures too (it uses less texture cache space) but that's hard to judge. But the lack of mip mapping means a lot of moire patterns and texture swimming in the distance. The 3D visuals lack mip mapping and anti-aliasing, probably to squeeze a little more frame rate out of it. It uses the expansion pak but I'm not sure what benefit it brings. It's probably running 320x240 at 16-bit color depth. But it is N64 so yeah.Īctually on the topic of the graphics, they are interesting. I get a kick out of how the rapid fire guns like the minigun, machine gun and hyperblaster don't really animate smoothly. Framerate still isn't very good most of the time. ![]() The original campaign here has some pretty simple maps. So I'm thinking the unique campaign was just a smooth way to put the fact that they couldn't really use the PC campaign. The much ballyhooed original campaign still has some PC maps in it, though they quite simplified. And of course there are no checkpoints or quicksaves. Then you can carefully deal with enemies one at a time. Often the only way to make progress is to memorize enemy locations by replaying the map many times. Circle strafing is almost impossible, at least for me. It's very difficult to quickly target with the N64 controls and I don't think it has auto-aim. The main issue is it doesn't play very enjoyably. Does anyone else think this game vaguely sucks? AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. ArchivesCategories |
